Here is the guidance given to the community council regarding these proposals.
The Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan 2029 Call for Ideas has been extended until 16 March 2026.
We have attached guidance outlining regarding what can be submitted as part of this process. We have also included slides showing the Call for Sites mapping by Community Councils area, providing an initial overview of what has been submitted so far.
As this is still an early stage, the points below summarise the current position:• The map shows proposed bid sites we have received through the Call for Sites consultation process running from 16 July 2025 – 31 October 2025.
• The validation process of the proposed bids is still ongoing at this time. As such, in some instances, information is still being sought in order to validate proposed bids. Where this is the case, bid site boundaries/ associated information may be updated, or a small number of bids will currently not be available to view on the map. The map will be updated as soon as the information becomes available.
• The proposed bid sites have not yet been assessed by Officers. Therefore, at this stage of the process, the proposed bids do not reflect any preferred options for inclusion in the Proposed Plan.
• Proposed bids for housing include approximate numbers of housing units which have been supplied by the bid proposers. These may change as Officers undertake their assessment of the proposed bids.
• We are not welcoming representation on the proposed bids themselves. The opportunity for this will come at a later stage of the Proposed Plan process, of which we will publicise.
• However, we hope that the map containing the proposed bid sites will help to inform submissions for the Call for Ideas. Whilst we are not currently looking for representations on the proposed bids, we would welcome comments via the Call for Ideas relating to whether the proposed bids align with strategic spatial aspirations for an area.
